How to play Russian Solitaire
Choose a round of Russian Solitaire and settle into its rules. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Look at what changes after your first action. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.
Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.
A useful comparison
Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Keep the objective visible.
Your goal
Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. The example below illustrates a decision.
Step by step
- Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
- Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
- Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
- Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.
Controls
Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.
A useful example
A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Notice the change in the playing area.
Watch out for this
Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Check the rule before repeating the action. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
